Science, Environmental, Health & Risk Communication, Digital & Social Media, Strategic Communication
Being a science communication scholar means two things to me.
It’s about exploring how media influences our understanding of & engagement with scientific issues. And equally so, it’s about communicating my own science: for me, that’s communicating and engaging with people and communities on the science of science communication.
So I’ve created the CSSC Briefs: for each project and publication I’ve worked on, you can read a short summary detailing what we did, why we did it, what we found, and why it matters—in a way that’s easily digestible, useful for you, and hopefully, entertaining along the way.
I’m Annie, a postdoctoral scholar at the Center for an Informed Public at the University of Washington. My research lies at the intersection of science communication, digital & social media, and strategic communication, particularly considering the changing nature of science communication and its social, political, and persuasive implications.
